Carey holds a Bachelor of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine, a Master of Science in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, and is working toward her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine. She is a Licensed Acupuncturist and NCCAOM Diplomate of Acupuncture. Throughout her professional career, she has earned a multitude of certifications and training in both alternative and allopathic medicine.
For almost two decades she has also been involved in allopathic medicine and education, working as an allied health college Professor, Director of Education, Campus Director, and most recently working here in St. Louis as an instructor for BJC. During the height of covid, Carey worked as a government contract worker for FEMA on the U.S., Mexico border.
Carey was born in Japan and has lived in Panama, Mexico, United States, and most recently she spent several months living in India studying Ayurvedic medicine. Her eclectic background introduced her to natural medicinal healing and spirit healing at a young age. She is most interested in working with mental health issues such as stress, depression, PTSD, chronic pain, men’s sexual health, oncology support, cosmetic acupuncture and micro-needling. Like many others that are drawn to natural medicine as a career, health issues that arose in her child and herself led her to pursue a career in Acupuncture and Oriental medicine. She supports all modalities of medicine and believes that the most important aspect of healing is what best serves the patient.
